Rosemary (rosmarinus officials 'salem') : a woodsy evergreen native to the Mediterranean. It gets its title from the Latin ros maris, ('dew of the sea').
Unlike most herbs, rosemary has a stronger flavor when fresh than when dried, and this salem variety, with its pale blue flowers, has been dried on the stem, with the leaves stripped from the stem by hand.
