Grass Fed Beef Sirloin/Porterhouse
The perfect bbq steak. Tender, delicious and full of flavour.
Sirloin and Porterhouse comes from the striploin. Located in the hindquarter, along the spine where muscles do less work; it runs from the ribs to rump. Sirloin is beautifully tender, and makes the perfect roast, stir-fry or bbq cut, as they suit high temperatures.
Note: 1 sirloin steak is approximately 250g (an excellent serving size ;) )
- Roasting w Peppercorns and Garlic;
- Chargrilling and serving with a sweet potato, zucchini and rocket salad;
- Stir-frying and served with avocado salsa, corn tortillas and lime wedges;
- Those who are feeling adventurous: Steak Tartare
The word sirloin derives from the Middle English surloine, itself derived from the Old French word surloigne (variant of surlonge), that is, sur for 'above' and longe for 'loin'. In Modern French, the cut of meat is called aloyau or faux-filet.
