
Organic Andean Grain Mix (Quinoa & Amaranth)
A unique, warm and natural ancient grain mix of White, Red and Black Quinoa with Amaranth*
Andean grain mix is also sometimes called 'supergrain mix', combining the goodness of organically grown Amaranth and tri-amounts of Quinoa. Nourishing and full of natural deliciousness and so easy to prepare, it can be used just like any other grain!
TO COOK: Rinse grains. Use 2 cups of water or broth for every cup of grain mix. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer until all liquid is absorbed, about 15 minutes.
*Amaranth: Also known as Kiwicha seeds in Peruvian, is an ancient pseudo-cereal from South America that dates back 8,000 years to Aztec times, and contains 10 essential amino acids. That makes it a valuable source of nutrients. It’s also gluten and wheat-free, and suitable for people with coeliac disease or gluten intolerance.
