Organic Split Peas - Green
Faster cook times than lentils or legumes; they also do not need to be rehydrated overnight.
Since they have been split, they can absorb water faster than whole beans and peas, breaking apart while cooking, leaving a beautifully thickened soup.
Split peas are field peas, (yellow or green) grown specifically for drying. When hulled and split in half along the natural seam, they become split peas, which encourages faster cooking and eliminates the need to pre-soak.
